8. Digital monographs

Giorgio Buccellati – June 2017

Digital monographs offer an extensive treatment of a given topic or author, and are articulated in a way that facilitates a proper digital style of the presentation of the argument. It also includes more extensive excerpts than is possible in the section so named.

A monograph is therefore very substantial, and ought to be considered on the same level as a printed monograph or long journal article. The format is truly “born digital,” in the sense that has been developed in the printed volume CAR, especially chapter 12). In this respect as well it ought to retain special attention.
